Born in Orlando, Florida on July 31, 1962, Wesley Trent Snipes is an accomplished American actor and martial artist who has graced the screens with his impressive array of talents. Known primarily for his action roles, Wesley has also starred in various other genres including comedies, thrillers, dramas, and more throughout his illustrious career.
Snipes' rise to fame began with notable performances in films such as the comedy Major League (1989), the drama Mo' Better Blues (1990), and crime dramas like New Jack City (1991) and King of New York (1990). His exceptional acting chops drew further attention with roles in the drama Jungle Fever (1991), sports comedy White Men Can't Jump (1992), and action-packed Passenger 57 (1992).
Establishing himself as a versatile actor, Wesley took on diverse characters in projects like the comedy To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar (1995) and thriller The Fan (1996). However, it was his role as Eric Brooks/Blade in the superhero film Blade (1998), based on the Marvel Comics character, that catapulted him to international fame. He reprised this iconic role in sequels Blade II (2002) and Blade: Trinity (2004).
