Biography:

Born on April 5th, 1984, Shin Min-ah, originally named Yang Min-ah (양민아), is a renowned South Korean actress and model. Growing up with her father, mother, older sister, and brother, young Min-ah's journey to stardom began unexpectedly in middle school. While on a school picnic, she took a photo with friends and sent it to the teen magazine KiKi ("키키"). The simple act would change her life forever as she was soon chosen as the magazine's model.

Her career blossomed organically from there, as Min-ah first appeared in commercials and music videos. In 2001, she made her cinematic debut in the movie "Volcano High" and continued to make her mark on South Korean cinema with a role in "Madeleine" two years later. However, it was her breakout performance in the 2005 gangster film "A Bittersweet Life" that captured the hearts of audiences across the country. In the movie, she masterfully portrayed the character Hee-soo, a complex blend of purity and maturity that left an indelible impression on the nation.

Since then, Shin Min-ah has garnered attention from top Korean directors and has continued to diversify her acting resume by taking on varied roles. From the martial arts comedy "My Mighty Princess" to the 70's go-go dancer in "Go Go 70s," she has demonstrated incredible range. Furthermore, she hasn't shied away from independent films either, as evidenced by her role in "Sisters on the Road."

In 2009, Shin Min-ah embarked on an exciting new venture with the project "Miracle Blue," a collaboration between herself, Korean alternative band Loveholic, and fashion powerhouse Calvin Klein. In the music video of the same name, she not only sings but also portrays various characters, showcasing her child-like innocence to her sultry, blonde-haired alter ego. This multifaceted talent has continued to captivate audiences and solidify Shin Min-ah's place as one of South Korea's most beloved actresses.
