Biography:

Born in Kent, Connecticut, Seth Woodbury MacFarlane is a multi-talented artist known for his work in animation, comedy, acting, singing, directing, and voicing numerous characters. He pursued his passion for animation at Rhode Island School of Design, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree.

Before creating the hit animated sitcoms Family Guy, American Dad!, and The Cleveland Show, MacFarlane honed his skills as an animator and writer for Hanna-Barbera on popular shows like Johnny Bravo, Cow and Chicken, and Dexter's Laboratory.

In 1999, he launched Family Guy, which quickly became a cult classic and spawned two other successful series - American Dad! in 2005 and The Cleveland Show in 2009, all produced under 20th Century Fox. His love for science fiction and fantasy has led him to guest-star and voice roles on shows like Star Trek: Enterprise and in the film Hellboy II: The Golden Army directed by Guillermo del Toro.

In addition to his achievements in animation, MacFarlane is also a skilled singer, performing at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall and Royal Albert Hall. He even created his own YouTube series, Seth MacFarlane's Cavalcade of Cartoon Comedy, in 2008.

MacFarlane has been recognized for his work with several awards including two Primetime Emmy Awards and an Annie Award. In 2009, he was awarded Webby Award for Film & Video Person of the Year. However, not everyone appreciates his humor, as some television watchdog groups have criticized Family Guy for its indecency.

Nevertheless, MacFarlane continues to share his talents and views on various platforms, often speaking at universities and colleges across the United States. He is a vocal supporter of gay rights and has even ventured into directing feature films with the announcement of his first directorial project, Ted, released in 2012. In this film, he not only directed but also provided the voice and motion capture for the main character, a talking teddy bear brought to life by Mark Wahlberg's character as a child.
