Biography:

Ryu Jun-yeol, born on September 25, 1986, is a South Korean actor who has captivated audiences with his performances both on television and in films. His journey into the world of acting began when he pursued studies at Suwon University. From there, he gained experience working in short films and independent titles, starting in 2012.

His first feature film role came in 2014 as part of the Korean Academy of Film Arts (KAFA) title INGtoogi: Battle of Internet Trolls. This was followed by a series of successful shorts and his debut performance in the KAFA film Socialphobia, which became a box-office hit after its premiere at the Busan International Film Festival. The film's success also earned Ryu numerous accolades, including the KAFA Rising Star Award, as well as recognition from the First Brand Awards and the Max Movie Awards.

In 2015, Ryu transitioned to television acting with roles in The Producers and eventually landed a main role in Reply 1988, a series that turned him into a household name. His performance garnered him even more praise, earning awards from the Paeksang Arts Awards and the Korea Cable TV Awards.

Ryu's film career continued to flourish in 2016, with diverse roles in productions such as the youth road drama One Way Trip, the sci-fi drama Sori: Voice from the Heart, island thriller No Tomorrow, melodrama Canola, and the noir thriller The King. He also starred alongside Song Kang-ho in the Gwangju massacre drama A Taxi Driver, another box-office hit.

In recent years, Ryu has continued to impress with his roles in Believer (2018), Money (2019), and The Battle: Roar to Victory (2019). His talent for taking on a variety of roles, coupled with his dedication to his craft, have solidified his status as one of South Korea's most promising actors.
