Biography:

Born on October 16, 1982 in the bustling city of Kochi, India, Prithviraj Sukumaran has captivated audiences with his diverse and versatile acting skills. Primarily active in Malayalam cinema, he's also made significant contributions to Tamil, Hindi, and Telugu films, proving his talent extends across multiple languages.

Prithviraj's film journey began early when he starred in Nandanam (2002), a commercially successful movie that marked his acting debut. However, it was his role in the Malayalam film Classmates (2006) that catapulted him into the limelight as a leading actor in the industry. The highest-grossing Malayalam film of that year, Classmates established Prithviraj's stronghold on the industry.

His remarkable performance in Vaasthavam earned him the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor in 2004, making him the youngest recipient at just 24 years old. Prithviraj continued to push boundaries by portraying a musician in the Tamil romantic comedy Mozhi (2007) and later dabbling in playback singing with Puthiya Mukham (2009).

In 2010, Prithviraj co-founded August Cinema, where he both produced and starred in Urumi (2011). The film went on to win the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Malayalam, and the Kerala State Film Award for Best Film. His versatility was further showcased through his powerful performances in films like Indian Rupee (2011), Ennu Ninte Moideen (2015), Ezra (2017) and Kaaviya Thalaivan (2014), where he earned the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Villain.

After parting ways with August Cinema in 2017, Prithviraj ventured into independent production under his banner, Prithviraj Productions, which backed the critically acclaimed film 9 (2019). His directorial debut came with Lucifer (2019), a Malayalam film that broke box office records, becoming the highest-grossing Malayalam film until June 2023.

In recent years, Prithviraj has starred in impactful films such as Driving License (2019), Ayyappanum Koshiyum (2020), Jana Gana Mana (2022), Kaduva (2022) and Prashanth Neel's Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire (2023) alongside renowned actor Prabhas.

Throughout his career spanning over a hundred films, Prithviraj has consistently proved his mettle as an exceptional talent in the Indian film industry, earning him accolades such as a National Film Award, three Kerala State Film Awards, a Tamil Nadu State Film Award, and a South Filmfare Award.
