Born on July 27th, 1970 in Denmark, Nikolaj William Coster-Waldau embarked upon an illustrious acting career after graduating from the prestigious Danish National School of Performing Arts in Copenhagen in 1993. His breakthrough role came just a year later with his captivating performance in the Danish film, Nightwatch (1994).
Coster-Waldau's talent soon caught the attention of international audiences as well, and he went on to appear in numerous films across Scandinavia. His versatile acting skills were further showcased with his role in Headhunters (2011) and A Thousand Times Good Night (2013).
However, it was his portrayal of the complex character Jaime Lannister in the HBO fantasy drama series Game of Thrones that truly propelled him into global stardom. His unforgettable performance earned him two Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.
