Biography:
Born Neta-Lee Hershlag on June 9th, 1981, in Jerusalem to an Israeli father and American mother, Natalie Portman would go on to become a renowned actress, known for her versatility and commitment to her craft. Raised in the eastern United States from the age of three, she discovered her passion for dancing and acting while growing up in New York.
Her big break came when she was just 13 years old, starring as a young assassin's companion in the 1994 film Léon: The Professional opposite Jean Reno. This role paved the way for her iconic portrayal of Queen Amidala in George Lucas' Star Wars prequel trilogy, starting with Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace while still attending high school on Long Island.
Despite her burgeoning acting career, Portman remained dedicated to her education and enrolled at Harvard University in 1999, studying psychology alongside her work as an actress.
