Colson Baker, known to the world as mgk, owes his stage name to a blend of rapid-fire lyricism and a notorious criminal. His previous moniker, Machine Gun Kelly, was inspired by George "Machine Gun Kelly" Barnes, reflecting Colson's own lightning-quick delivery in his songs. Born in Houston, Texas, the young artist faced multiple relocations before finally settling down with his family in Cleveland, Ohio in 2005.
