Laurence John Fishburne III, or Larry Fishburne as he was credited until 1993, is an esteemed and multifaceted American actor. Known for his powerful, commanding performances on both stage and screen, Fishburne has etched a remarkable path throughout his illustrious career.
Born in Augusta, Georgia, he rose to fame with his iconic role as Morpheus in the groundbreaking Matrix series (1999-2003), which left a lasting impact on pop culture. Fishburne's diverse acting talent can also be seen in John Singleton's seminal drama film Boyz n the Hood (1991) where he played Jason "Furious" Styles, and Francis Ford Coppola's war epic Apocalypse Now (1979), in which he portrayed Tyrone "Mr. Clean" Miller with unparalleled depth.
In addition to these, Fishburne has given an equally memorable performance as "The Bowery King" in the high-octane John Wick film series since 2017. His dynamic range is further evidenced by his portrayal of Ike Turner in What's Love Got to Do with It (1993), for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor.
