Biography:

Laurette Marcia "Laura" Gemser, born on October 5th, 1950 in Java, Indonesia, is a Dutch-based actress of Indo descent. Raised in the Netherlands after moving at the tender age of four, Laura grew up in Utrecht where she attended both high school at MULO Regentesseschool and later the Artibus Art School where she specialized in fashion design.

In 1975, Laura moved to Italy and embarked on a career that would make her an icon of the big screen. She started as a model, gracing several magazines from the Netherlands and Belgium, before venturing into soft erotic films. However, it was her role in the series of Black Emanuelle films during the 1970s that shot her to international fame.

Laura's versatility as an actress was showcased in Michael Landon's 1983 American television movie, Love Is Forever, where she played Keo Sirisomphone, a Laotian refugee. In this film, she was credited under the name Moira Chen. Despite her work in the adult-themed films, Laura proved she could tackle more mainstream roles with grace and skill.

Throughout her career, Laura occasionally worked alongside her actor husband, Gabriele Tinti. However, the 1990s saw a shift in Gemser's professional focus as she stepped away from acting to pursue costume designing for film. Tragically, during this time, she lost her beloved husband, Gabriele Tinti, who succumbed to cancer in 1991.

Today, Laura Gemser lives a life of retirement and privacy in Rome. Despite being out of the limelight, she remains remembered as one of the many captivating women who portrayed the sultry adventuress Emmanuelle. Her unique talents and beauty have left an indelible mark in film history.
