Biography:
Born and raised in Harvey, Illinois, LaRoyce Hawkins has carved out an impressive career in film, television, and theater. Growing up in the Chicago South Suburbs, he was nurtured by his mother Leah Bradley and father Leonard Hawkins. As a young man, LaRoyce attended Thornton High School, where his interest in acting and stand-up comedy began to take root.
After high school, LaRoyce went on to attend Illinois State University on a full tuition scholarship. There he majored in Acting, honing his craft and preparing for the journey ahead. As a native Chicagoan, LaRoyce is passionate about giving back to his community – particularly through mentoring and inspiring students in local middle schools and high schools who share similar challenges that he faced growing up.
LaRoyce's big break came when he landed his first role as Art Baker in the major motion picture "The Express." This led to powerful television appearances on hit series such as "House of Payne," "Detroit 187," and "UnderEmployed." However, it was his starring role as a series regular on the popular Dick Wolf show "Chicago PD" that truly catapulted him into the spotlight. Additionally, LaRoyce can be seen recurring on "Chicago Fire" and making appearances in Mark Wahlberg's HBO show "Ballers." Through his acting career, LaRoyce continues to inspire others with his talents and commitment to community service.
