Biography:
Kyle Merritt MacLachlan was born on February 22, 1959, in Yakima, Washington. His mother, Catherine, worked as a public relations director, while his father, Kent Alan MacLachlan, was a stockbroker and lawyer. With Scottish, Cornish, and German roots, Kyle grew up with two younger brothers - Craig and Kent - both of whom also reside in the Pacific Northwest.
MacLachlan completed high school at Eisenhower High School in 1977 and went on to graduate from the University of Washington in 1982. Soon after, he packed his bags and made the move to Hollywood, California with dreams of making it big as an actor.
One of Kyle's most iconic roles came when he portrayed Dale Cooper in David Lynch's surreal masterpiece, Twin Peaks (1990-1991). His performance garnered critical acclaim and catapulted him into the limelight. The success of Twin Peaks also led to the prequel film, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me (1992), where MacLachlan once again breathed life into the enigmatic FBI agent Dale Cooper.
