Born on November 24, 1978, Katherine Marie Heigl is an accomplished American actress and former fashion model. She began her career as a young girl with Wilhelmina Models before transitioning into acting. Making her film debut in That Night back in 1992, she continued to take on various roles throughout the years, appearing in My Father the Hero (1994) and Under Siege 2: Dark Territory (1995).
Her breakthrough came when she landed the role of Isabel Evans on The WB television series Roswell from 1999 to 2002. This brought her critical acclaim, as well as nominations for both Saturn and Teen Choice Awards. Katherine's next significant role was Dr. Izzie Stevens on the ABC medical drama Grey's Anatomy, which earned her a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2007.
