Joseph Gordon-Levitt

Joseph Leonard Gordon-Levitt is an acclaimed American actor, filmmaker, and the creative force behind the online media platform HitRecord. Born in Los Angeles to a Jewish family, Joseph began his career as a child actor, appearing in films such as A River Runs Through It (1992), Holy Matrimony (1994), and Angels in the Outfield (1994). This early work earned him a Young Artist Award and a Saturn Award nomination.

In 1996, Joseph joined the cast of the popular TV series 3rd Rock from the Sun, playing the character Tommy Solomon for five seasons. His performance in this role earned him three Screen Actors Guild Awards nominations. During his time on the show, he also took on supporting roles in films like 10 Things I Hate About You (1999) and Treasure Planet (2002), where he voiced Jim Hawkins.

In 2004, Joseph decided to take a break from acting to study at Columbia University but eventually dropped out to return to the world of cinema. Since then, he has starred in numerous films, including Manic (2001), Mysterious Skin (2004), Brick (2005), The Brothers Bloom (2008), G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2009), Inception (2010), The Dark Knight Rises (2012), Looper (2012), and Lincoln (2012). His performances in 500 Days of Summer (2009) and 50/50 (2011) earned him Golden Globe Award nominations for Best Actor.

In 2013, Joseph wrote and directed his debut feature film, Don Jon, a comedy-drama that received critical acclaim and garnered him an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best First Screenplay. His other directorial projects include two short films from 2010: Morgan M. Morgansen's Date with Destiny and Morgan and Destiny's Eleventeenth Date: The Zeppelin Zoo.

In 2021, Joseph ventured into television as the writer, director, and star of Mr. Corman, a comedy-drama series on Apple TV+. His passion for storytelling and creativity remains evident in all his work, both in front of and behind the camera.
