Biography:

Jordin Brianna Sparks was born on December 22, 1989 in Chicago, Illinois. At just 17 years old, Jordin gained fame and recognition after winning the sixth season of American Idol in 2007. She made history as the youngest winner in the competition's history. Following her victory, she released her self-titled debut album later that same year. The record was a massive success, selling over two million copies worldwide and achieving platinum status from the RIAA.

Two of the singles from the album, "Tattoo" and "No Air," reached top ten spots on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. "No Air" was particularly noteworthy for its success; it sold over three million digital copies in the United States alone and earned Jordin her first Grammy Award nomination for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals.

In 2009, Jordin released her second album, Battlefield, which debuted at number seven on the US Billboard 200 chart. The lead single from the album, "Battlefield," reached number ten on the Billboard Hot 100, making Jordin the only American Idol contestant to have their first five singles reach the top twenty on the chart. The second single, "S.O.S. (Let the Music Play)," became her first number one hit on the US Hot Dance Club Play chart.

Throughout her career, Jordin has been awarded numerous accolades, including a NAACP Image Award, a BET Award, an American Music Award, a People's Choice Award, and two Teen Choice Awards. In 2009, Billboard magazine ranked her as the 91st Artist of the 2000s Decade. Five years later, VH1 placed Jordin at number 92 on their list of the "100 Greatest Women in Music." As of February 2012, she has sold over 1.3 million albums and an impressive 10.2 million singles in the United States alone, making her one of the most successful American Idol contestants of all time.

In addition to her music career, Jordin ventured into acting and Broadway. She made guest appearances on several popular television series, such as The Suite Life On Deck (2009) and Big Time Rush (2010). In 2010, she also made her Broadway debut in the musical In The Heights, starring as Nina Rosario. Later that year, Jordin made her feature film debut in a remake of the musical film Sparkle (2012), which starred an impressive ensemble including Whitney Houston, Derek Luke, Carmen Ejogo, and Tika Sumpter.

Jordin's success extended beyond music and acting as she also branched out into designing perfumes. In October 2010, she launched her first fragrance, Because of You..., followed by Fascinate in March 2012 and Ambition in November 2012. The same year, Jordin was named one of 2012's "Most Beautiful at Every Age" by People magazine.

After a four-year hiatus from solo material, Jordin made her return to the music industry on July 22, 2013, with the promotional single "Skipping a Beat." The song quickly gained popularity and became available for purchase in August 2013.
