Biography:
Jonathan Scott Frakes is an accomplished American actor and director, best known for his portrayal of the charming Commander William T. Riker in the iconic television series Star Trek: The Next Generation and its subsequent films and spin-offs. Born and raised in the United States, Jonathan's acting career began with a series of notable TV roles that showcased his diverse talents. He played Stanley Hazard in the miniseries North and South, Sandy Parris on ABC's Paper Dolls, Marcus Marshall on NBC's Bare Essence, and the captivating Damon Ross on Falcon Crest.
Frakes' journey behind the camera began during The Next Generation's third season when he started directing episodes. This led him to directing two Star Trek feature films – Star Trek: First Contact (1996) and Star Trek: Insurrection (1998). His directorial skills extended beyond the realm of Star Trek, as he took on the helm for episodes of other popular series like Deep Space Nine, Voyager, Discovery, Strange New Worlds, and Picard.
Jonathan's versatility continued to shine through as he ventured into directing feature films such as Clockstoppers (2002) and Thunderbirds (2004), and numerous television projects like the Librarian films and series, Leverage, Burn Notice, and Roswell, where he also served as a producer.
Frakes is also credited as an author for the novel The Abductors: Conspiracy, which was written in collaboration with Dean Wesley Smith.
