Biography:

Jon Cryer, an American actor born on April 16, 1965, is more than just the son of actress-singer Gretchen Cryer. His journey into the world of entertainment began with a splash in the 1984 romantic comedy "No Small Affair." However, it was his role as "Duckie" in the iconic 1986 John Hughes film "Pretty in Pink" that catapulted him to fame.

Despite these early successes in film, finding a foothold in television proved challenging for Jon. His starring roles in "The Famous Teddy Z," "Partners," and "The Trouble with Normal" didn't quite catch on, but his luck changed when he landed the role of Alan Harper in the CBS comedy series "Two and a Half Men." Sharing screen time with Charlie Sheen, Jon's portrayal of the quirky Alan Harper brought him critical acclaim, culminating in a Primetime Emmy Award win in 2009. His outstanding performances on the show also earned him three earlier Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.

In addition to his work as an actor, Jon has proven himself as a writer and producer. In 1998, he completed writing and producing the independent film "Went to Coney Island on a Mission from God... Be Back by Five," which received critical praise. This multi-talented artist continues to entertain and impress audiences worldwide.
