Born and raised in North Plainfield, New Jersey, John William DiMaggio embraced his gruff, deep voice and distinct New Jersey accent that would ultimately define his career as a versatile voice actor. DiMaggio's unique voice has landed him some of the most memorable roles in animation history, often portraying villains and anti-heroes with unmatched depth and charisma.

Perhaps his most iconic role is Bender, the alcohol-fueled, cigar-chomping robot from the hit series Futurama, which brought DiMaggio critical acclaim and a legion of devoted fans. He also lent his voice to Dr. Drakken and Motor Ed in Disney's Kim Possible, two characters who showcased DiMaggio's ability to bring humor and menace to the screen simultaneously.
