Starting off strong with his first major role in the 1982 action movie "The Soldier," Almeida's career continued to flourish as he took on a variety of characters throughout the decade. His breakthrough came in the mid-90s, starring as Félix Cortez in the Tom Clancy thriller "Clear and Present Danger" and as drug kingpin Bucho in Robert Rodriguez's action thriller "Desperado."
