Jean Simmons, the elegant English actress who graced both British and American screens, was born in 1929 in the heart of London. A true product of the Golden Age of Hollywood, she began her acting career during World War II as part of J. Arthur Rank's group of "well-spoken young starlets."
In her early years, Jean appeared in a series of films that captured the spirit and resilience of the British people amidst wartime turmoil.
