Born in Fontaine-les-Dijon, France, on June 19, 1972, Jean Edmond Dujardin is an accomplished French actor and comedian. He began his career in the world of comedy as a stand-up artist in Paris, quickly moving onto guest roles in comedic television shows before landing a leading role in the popular TV series Un gars, une fille. Here, he starred alongside his then-partner Alexandra Lamy and gained widespread recognition for their on-screen chemistry and comic timing.
Dujardin's success continued when he transitioned to film roles, appearing in box office hits such as Brice de Nice, Michel Hazanavicius's OSS 117: Cairo, Nest of Spies and its sequel OSS 117: Lost in Rio, as well as the gritty drama 99 Francs. However, it was his role as George Valentin in the 2011 silent film The Artist that truly catapulted him into international stardom.
