Biography:

Jared Joseph Leto, born in Bossier City, Louisiana, on December 26th, 1971, is an acclaimed American actor and musician. He first gained recognition for his role as the enigmatic Jordan Catalano in the TV series My So-Called Life (1994) before making his film debut in How to Make an American Quilt (1995). His performance in Prefontaine (1997) was widely praised, and soon after, he took on supporting roles in a string of successful films such as The Thin Red Line (1998), Fight Club (1999), Girl, Interrupted (1999), and American Psycho (2000).

In 2000, Leto delivered an outstanding performance as heroin addict Harry Goldfarb in Requiem for a Dream, a role that earned him widespread critical acclaim. After this success, he shifted his focus towards music but later returned to acting with a string of memorable performances in films like Panic Room (2002), Alexander (2004), Lord of War (2005), Lonely Hearts (2006), Chapter 27 (2007), and Mr. Nobody (2009). His portrayal of a transgender woman in Dallas Buyers Club (2013) was particularly notable, earning him an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, and a Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Supporting Actor.
