James Francis Gunn Jr., an American filmmaker born on August 5, 1966, has built a remarkable career in Hollywood since the mid-1990s. He began his journey as a screenwriter at Troma Entertainment and penned "Tromeo and Juliet" in 1996. Gunn's directorial debut came with the horror-comedy film "Slither" in 2006, followed by forays into the superhero genre with films like "Super," "Guardians of the Galaxy," its sequel "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," and more recently, "The Suicide Squad."
