Born on February 25, 1986, Jameela Alia Jamil is a multifaceted British actress, activist, and television presenter who has made quite an impact in the entertainment industry. She began her career as a pop culture host on Channel 4's T4 strand from 2009 to 2012. Her charm and charisma didn't go unnoticed, leading to her becoming the official chart radio host for BBC Radio 1, co-hosting The Official Chart Update alongside Scott Mills. Jamil made history as she became the first regular solo female presenter of the BBC Radio 1 chart show.
In 2016, Jamil crossed the pond to Hollywood and landed a starring role as Tahani Al-Jamil in NBC's critically acclaimed fantasy comedy series, The Good Place. Her talents didn't stop there; she also hosted the late-night game show, The Misery Index on TBS and was one of the judges for the voguing reality competition show, Legendary. In 2022, Jamil continued to expand her horizons by participating in two superhero projects – lending her voice to the animated film, DC League of Super-Pets, and appearing in the live-action television series, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. As if that wasn't enough, she has been voicing the character Asencia since 2022 on the Star Trek: Prodigy science fiction series.
