In 1984, Stanton received his first rare leading role in the critically acclaimed film, Paris, Texas. The audience was captivated by his silent yet powerful performance as Travis Henderson. Nearly three decades later, at the age of 90, he starred as a nonagenarian named Lucky in the film Lucky (2017).
