Harriet Sansom Harris, born in Texas, discovered her love for acting at a young age. At just seventeen years old, she was accepted into New York's prestigious Juilliard School, where she honed her skills as an actress. Upon graduation, she joined The Acting Company, a repertory group formed by the first alumni of John Houseman's Drama Division at Juilliard.
After spending three years with the company, Harris transitioned to regional theater where she built a successful career on Broadway and Off-Broadway. However, it was her role in Paul Rudnick's smash Off-Broadway hit, "Jeffrey", about love in the time of AIDS, that truly catapulted her into the limelight. Following the success of "Jeffrey", she went on to make guest appearances on popular television series such as "Frasier" where she captivated audiences with her portrayal of Bebe Glazer - Frasier's cutthroat, neurotic, chain-smoking agent.
Harris also received critical acclaim for her role in CBS's "The 5 Mrs. Buchanans" (1994) as Vivian Buchanan. Despite making New York her home, she frequently travels to California for film and television projects.
