Biography:

Born on September 4th, 1972 in Canada, Françoise Fong-Wa Yip is an actress who has captivated audiences with her diverse and dynamic roles. Known for playing the role of redeemable bad girls, she made her mark in Jackie Chan's "Rumble in the Bronx" and Jet Li's "Black Mask".

The success of "Rumble in the Bronx", which secured the number-one spot at the US box office, catapulted Yip into instant stardom. This recognition earned her two Hong Kong Film Award nominations, cementing her position as a formidable talent. Despite taking on smaller roles in movies and TV shows later in her career, she has continued to work steadily in the industry.

In the science fiction television series "Andromeda", Yip portrayed two distinct characters - one who was arrested and the other who met a tragic end. She also collaborated with Jet Li on two occasions: first as his love interest in "Black Mask" and then in "Romeo Must Die", where she played a lethal Chinese gangster motorcycle assassin who ultimately met her demise at the hands of Li and Aaliyah.

Unfortunately, Yip's television projects have yet to surpass one season, and her starring roles in movies often found themselves released as straight-to-video or DVD productions. Her most recent appearances include a role in "Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem" and a guest spot on the Canadian TV show "Blood Ties". Despite these challenges, Yip continues to be an integral part of the film industry, consistently bringing life to each character she embodies.
