Biography:
Born on March 31, 1971, Ewan McGregor is a Scottish actor who has made quite the name for himself in both film and television. A highly accomplished performer, he has earned a Golden Globe Award and a Primetime Emmy Award throughout his career. In 2013, his work in drama and charity was honored when he was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE).
While attending the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, McGregor's acting aspirations began to unfold as he landed a leading role in the British television series Lipstick on Your Collar in 1993. This was followed by his breakout role in Trainspotting (1996), where he portrayed Mark Renton, a drug addict navigating through life in Edinburgh. His international fame continued to grow when he joined the Star Wars universe, starring as the iconic Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi in the prequel trilogy from 1999 to 2005.
McGregor's career has seen him take on a wide range of roles since then. He has danced and sung his way through Baz Luhrmann's Moulin Rouge! (2001), showcased his action skills in Black Hawk Down (2001), and explored the world of fantasy in Big Fish (2003). In 2009, he delved into the thriller genre with Angels and Demons.
