Biography:

Eric James McCormack, a Canadian-American actor, musician, writer, and producer, was born in Toronto on April 18, 1963. Standing at a height of 5' 11", McCormack found his passion for acting during his high school years at Stephen Leacock Collegiate Institute High School. After leaving Ryerson University in 1985 to join the Stratford Shakespeare Festival, he honed his skills on stage for five fruitful years.

The late '90s saw McCormack moving to Los Angeles, where he began securing minor roles in various television series such as Top Cops, Street Justice, and Lovesome Dove: The Series. His big break came in 1998 when he landed the role of Will Truman in the hit sitcom Will & Grace. This iconic character brought him global recognition and eventually earned him an Emmy Award for Best Actor in a Comedy Series in 2001.

In addition to his television work, McCormack ventured into Broadway with a starring role in the 2001 production of The Music Man. He also appeared in the 2005 film The Sisters. Post-Will & Grace, which concluded in 2006, he took on the leading role in the New York production of Some Girl(s). McCormack continued to diversify his portfolio with roles in the television mini-series The Andromeda Strain (2008) and TNT drama Trust Me (2009), before being cast in the science fiction movie Alien Trespass.
