Born Eline Pauwels on April 12th, 1990, in the historic city of Leuven, Belgium, this talented actress has captured the hearts of audiences worldwide. Best known for her portrayal of Ryn in the fantasy drama series "Siren" (2018), she also made a memorable appearance as Bianca in the award-winning fantasy epic "Game of Thrones" in 2016. Her journey to stardom began long before, however, shaped by her family and early love for acting.
Eline is the daughter of renowned Belgian pharmacologist Rudi Pauwels and his wife Carine Claeys. Her father, a pioneer in the biotech industry, founded Tibotec and Vicro, both dedicated to combating HIV. Eline has a sibling, though they remain largely out of the spotlight. Inspired by her passion for acting, she honed her skills during high school, participating in various stage productions. Upon graduation, she enrolled at the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA) in London and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in acting. Her training included mastery of ballet, hip hop, singing, Flamenco, and violin, with fluency in Dutch, French, and English languages, as well as an array of international accents.

In August 2016, Eline was cast as Ryn in the Freeform series "Siren." The feral mermaid's journey to the small coastal village in search of her sister captured audiences around the world, making "Siren" the top new cable drama during spring 2018. As a result, the show was renewed for a second season, premiering on January 24, 2019. To prepare for this role, Eline studied mermaid legends and marine predator behavior, drawing inspiration from Icelandic singer Björk for Ryn's unique speech patterns.
