English actor David Hattersley Warner was born in Manchester and began his journey in the world of performing arts at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Early on, he found success in theatre, but it was his lead performance in Karel Reisz's film "Morgan: A Suitable Case for Treatment" that propelled him into prominence on screen in the early 1960s. The role earned Warner a BAFTA Award nomination for Best Actor in a Leading Role.
Throughout his extensive career, Warner took on a diverse range of roles - from romantic leads to sinister villains. He appeared in classic films such as "The Ballad of Cable Hogue," "Straw Dogs," and "Cross of Iron," as well as horror movies like "The Omen." His acting talents extended beyond the silver screen, with notable performances in television miniseries "Holocaust" and a stage adaptation of "The Thirty-Nine Steps." Warner's ability to morph into various characters was further showcased through his roles in "Time After Time," "Time Bandits," "Tron," and even a version of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol."
