Biography:

Born on July 22, 1946, Danny Lebern Glover is an accomplished American actor, director, and activist who has captured hearts in both film and television. He gained immense popularity for his role as Sergeant Roger Murtaugh in the Lethal Weapon film series.

Glover's extensive career includes a diverse range of roles on stage, screen, and television. In The Color Purple, he played the devoted husband to Whoopi Goldberg's character, Celie. He also took on the role of Lieutenant James McFee in Witness, and starred as the lead in films like To Sleep with Anger, Predator 2, Angels in the Outfield, Operation Dumbo Drop, and Silverado, among others. For his outstanding performance in To Sleep with Anger, he received the Independent Spirit Award for Best Male Lead.

Throughout his career, Glover has taken on prominent supporting roles in films like A Rage in Harlem, Dreamgirls, Shooter, Death at a Funeral, Beyond the Lights, Sorry to Bother You, The Last Black Man in San Francisco, and The Dead Don't Die. He also appeared in Lonesome Dove and Jumanji: The Next Level. In Predator 2, Glover held top billing for the first time as he starred in the sequel to the science fiction action film, Predator.

In addition to his acting career, Glover has showcased his talent behind the camera, making his directorial debut with the Showtime channel short film Override in 1994. That same year, he and actor Ben Guillory founded the Robey Theatre Company in Los Angeles, dedicated to theatre by and about black people.
