Biography:

Daniel Wroughton Craig, an English actor hailing from Liverpool, is best known for his portrayal of James Bond. His journey into the world of cinema began after training at London's National Youth Theatre and graduating from the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 1991.

Craig made a strong entrance on stage with The Power of One in 1992, but it was his role in the drama serial Our Friends in the North (1996) that truly propelled him into stardom. He went on to deliver memorable supporting roles in films such as Elizabeth (1998), Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001), Road to Perdition (2002), Layer Cake (2004), and Munich (2005).

In 2006, Craig took on the iconic role of James Bond in Casino Royale, a reimagining of the classic franchise that earned him a BAFTA nomination for Best Actor. Over the next decade, he would go on to portray Bond in four more films - Quantum of Solace (2008), Skyfall (2012), Spectre (2015) and No Time to Die (2021).

Away from the world of Bond, Craig has appeared in a diverse range of roles. In 2007, he starred opposite Nicole Kidman in the fantasy film The Golden Compass, followed by a role in the Holocaust drama Defiance (2008). He ventured into the realm of science fiction with Cowboys & Aliens (2011) and took on the mystery thriller The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011). His most recent non-Bond role was in the heist film Logan Lucky (2017).

Craig's talent extends beyond the silver screen. On stage, he has starred in Angels in America at the Royal National Theatre on the West End and made his Broadway debut in A Steady Rain (2009). He later returned to Broadway with Harold Pinter's Betrayal (2011) and William Shakespeare's Macbeth (2022). In 2016, Craig played Iago in a New York Theatre Workshop production of Othello.

His performance as Detective Benoit Blanc in the Knives Out film series (2019, 2022) earned him two Golden Globe Award nominations, proving that his acting range continues to captivate audiences around the world.
