Christopher D'Olier Reeve was an iconic American actor who soared to international stardom for his captivating portrayal of Superman in a series of blockbuster films. Born on September 25, 1952, in New York City, his acting journey began with stage appearances before he made the transition to the silver screen.

One fateful day on May 27, 1995, Christopher's life took an unexpected turn when a horrific horse-riding accident left him paralyzed from the neck down. Despite this devastating setback, Reeve remained resilient and became a powerful advocate for people with spinal cord injuries. He passionately lobbied for human embryonic stem cell research and even established the Christopher Reeve Foundation and co-founded the Reeve-Irvine Research Center to aid those in similar situations.

Away from his philanthropic endeavors, Christopher was a devoted family man. In April 1992, he married Italian actress Dana Morosini, and together they welcomed their son, William, later that year.
