Christopher Peter Meloni, born on April 2, 1961, is an American actor who has left a significant mark in the world of television and film. He first gained international fame as NYPD Detective Elliot Stabler on the long-running NBC series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, a role he played until 2013. Intriguingly, Meloni reprised his beloved character for the 2021 spinoff show, Law & Order: Organized Crime, keeping fans hooked to their screens.

Meloni's captivating talent was also recognized by the 2006 Emmy Awards, where he was nominated for the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series category for his portrayal of Elliot Stabler. He further demonstrated his versatility as an actor by playing criminal Jimmy Liery on NYPD Blue during 1996-1997 and portraying inmate Chris Keller on HBO's prison drama Oz.
