Chiwetel Umeadi Ejiofor, a British actor known for his incredible range and talent, was born on July 10, 1977. With an impressive resume that includes numerous accolades, this gifted artist has made a significant impact in the film and theater world.

Ejiofor's journey into the arts began early when he joined the National Youth Theatre in 1995. During his time at London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, he was just 19 years old when Steven Spielberg cast him as James Covey in the film Amistad (1997). This was a remarkable start to Ejiofor's career, as it showcased his ability to shine on both stage and screen.

His incredible performance in Othello (2008) earned him the prestigious Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor. Continuing to gain recognition for his outstanding work, he received a BAFTA Award for Best Actor and a nomination for Academy Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of Solomon Northup in the powerful film 12 Years a Slave (2013).

In recognition of his contributions to the arts, Ejiofor was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 2008 and later Commander (CBE) in 2015.
