The daughter of renowned actors Tammy Grimes and Christopher Plummer, Amanda was drawn to horses from a young age, spending much of her early life tending to them on the East Coast and in Ireland before following her parents into show business.

Plummer's stage debut came in 1981 with a Tony Award-nominated performance as Josephine in a revival of A Taste of Honey. She continued to make waves on Broadway, earning both a Tony Award and a Drama Desk Award for her captivating portrayal of Sister Agnes in the play Agnes of God.

With a solid foundation in theater, Plummer made a smooth transition into film and television work. One of her most memorable roles was Alice Hackett on L.A.
