Allison Brooks Janney, born on November 19th, 1959, is an esteemed American actress known for her versatility across theater, television, and film. With a career that has spanned three decades, Janney has truly made her mark in the entertainment industry. Her impressive accolades include an Academy Award, a British Academy Film Award, a Golden Globe Award, and seven Primetime Emmy Awards. She also holds nominations for two prestigious Tony Awards.
Hailing from Boston and raised in Dayton, Ohio, Janney's talent was evident from the start. After graduating from Kenyon College, she received a scholarship to study at the esteemed Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Before her breakthrough roles, Janney honed her skills with minor and uncredited appearances on both film and television screens.
Her career trajectory changed when she was cast as C.J. Cregg in the NBC political drama, The West Wing (1999-2006).
