Behind Blue Skies

In 1975, 16-year-old Martin is desperate for an escape from his oppressive home life, defined by an alcoholic father and a worn-out mother. His friend Micke promises relief by suggesting they become waiters at a seaside resort in Sweden. As Micke quickly abandons their plan for other pursuits, Martin finds solace in the company of Jenny, a fellow server. To his surprise, Martin catches the eye of Gösta, the resort's volatile manager who takes him under his wing and makes him his right-hand man. As Martin learns the ropes, he uncovers the darker side of Gösta's life - a world of illicit dealings that challenge the innocent boy's moral compass.
