The Horse Thief

Norbu, a devoted member of a Tibetan community, lives by the principles of Buddhism, yet his occupation as a highwayman forces him and his family into conflict with their own beliefs. When he is accused of stealing from the temple, Norbu, Dolma, and their young son Tashi are banished from the clan, plunging them into poverty and despair. The situation worsens when Tashi falls ill and eventually succumbs to a fever. Stricken with grief but determined to protect his newborn child, Norbu embarks on a perilous journey to secure re-admission for his family and ensure their survival during the harsh winter months. Throughout this harrowing ordeal, themes of love, devotion, and the strength of human connection are woven through the challenges they face in pursuit of salvation and belonging.
