The Case Study of Vanitas

Set against the backdrop of 19th-century Paris, the film follows the story of young vampire Noé. When he discovers an ancient text known as the Book of Vanitas in the hands of a human doctor, who goes by the name Vanitas, he is intrigued. This peculiar physician claims to possess the ability to cure vampirism with the knowledge contained within this mysterious book. Caught between the allure of immortality and the desire for a normal life, Noé finds himself drawn into an alliance with Vanitas. Although the partnership carries inherent danger, it seems that Noé may not have many other options if he wishes to escape his eternally dark existence. The film explores themes of temptation, sacrifice, and the pursuit of a normal human life amidst an extraordinary circumstance.
