In this European-set tale during the mid-20th century, a mysterious caretaker named Albert is assigned the task of protecting a peculiar young girl, Mia, whose teeth shimmer like ice. Their residence remains shrouded in darkness as the window shutters are always closed, isolating them from the outside world. As Albert's days unfold within this secluded environment, he receives periodic phone calls from an unidentified 'Master', who seems to take a keen interest in Mia's wellbeing. However, one day, Albert is abruptly informed that it's time for him to prepare Mia for departure, leaving behind their enigmatic life together.
