In a world that eerily mirrors our present reality, Ray Tincelli, a delivery driver, fights to make ends meet for himself and his younger brother, who is battling an illness. Faced with financial troubles and mounting desperation, he stumbles upon an opportunity in the unconventional gig economy: trekking through dense forests to install cable connections between enormous metal cubes that are part of a new quantum trading network. As he navigates this unfamiliar territory, Ray discovers a tense and hostile environment where human cablers compete against automated counterparts for survival.
