In the midst of a financial crisis triggered by a market collapse, Will and Dawn embark on a journey to drive home through the winter highway. Along the way, they meet Lee and Cheryl, two hitchhikers seeking a new beginning, and together they face unexpected challenges. After nearly hitting an old man wandering on the road, they discover hidden treasures in his coat: cash, a map with GPS coordinates, and a gold coin. Choosing to ignore the moral dilemma, Lee suggests reporting the man to the police as John Doe while keeping the money. Instead of turning back, all four decide to venture into the snowy wilderness, determined to locate the buried gold that could potentially save them from their financial woes.
