Description:

In ancient Korea during the year 1762, Crown Prince Hyojang, later posthumously referred to as Sado, finds himself entangled in a web of political intrigue and familial tension when he's accused of treason by his father, King Yeongjo of Joseon. Rather than allowing him to commit suicide as the king demands, his most loyal advisors intervene, but they are unable to protect him from his father's cruel punishment. Instead, Sado is confined within a sealed wooden rice chest, denied basic necessities such as food and water. This powerful historical drama delves into the darker aspects of royalty and familial bonds, exploring themes of isolation, power struggle, and sacrifice against the backdrop of ancient Korea's culture and traditions.
