Beasts of the Southern Wild

In the isolated southern Delta community known as 'the Bathtub', six-year-old Hushpuppy is a resilient and resourceful girl who navigates life under the unconventional guidance of her father, Wink. As Wink's health deteriorates from an enigmatic illness, he instills in Hushpuppy the survival skills she will need when he is no longer by her side. Amidst rising temperatures and melting ice caps, a prehistoric threat emerges: aurochs, creatures long thought extinct, begin to appear. Simultaneously grappling with the imminent natural disaster and her father's fading health, Hushpuppy embarks on an emotional journey to find her estranged mother while seeking answers about the world that surrounds her.
