In this gripping psychological thriller, the enigmatic character Gene Clifford, who has recently made his daring escape from a Puget Sound institution, embarks on an elaborate journey to conceal his true identity through plastic surgery. Adopting the persona of Keith Grant, he settles in the peaceful town of Deer View, California. Amongst his new neighbors, Keith becomes romantically involved with a recently divorced school principal, but soon finds himself under suspicion from her astute and tech-savvy teenage son who resides in a wheelchair. As the tension between Keith's past and present lives mounts, the movie delves into themes of deception, obsession, and the struggle to reconcile with one's own identity.
