Chihayafuru: Part I

In the elementary years of her life, Chihaya Ayase crosses paths with Arata Wataya, a new student hailing from Fukui Prefecture, who introduces her to the intricate and strategic world of karuta - a traditional Japanese card game. Fast forward four years later, Chihaya now a high school student, learns that Arata has left the game behind, his passion for karuta seemingly extinguished. Unable to let go of their shared pastime and eagerly hoping to reconnect with her childhood friend, Chihaya persuades Taichi Mashima, her longtime companion since kindergarten, to co-found a karuta club at their high school. Together, they embark on a journey that intertwines friendship, competition, and personal growth through the captivating game of karuta.
